End Cut Technology (ECT)

End Cut Machine

The end cut/air push concept is a well-proven method for achieving exceptionally clean glass from lamp recycling. MRT's End Cut Machines offer high capacity and versatility, causing them to be in high demand by both recyclers and lamp manufacturers who recycle their own production rejects. MRT's End Cut Technology for separating various qualities of phosphor powders, glass and metals, is regarded as the best on the market.

In addition to the standard End Cut Machine supplied, various options are available to customise the machines for different requirements.

HOW THE END CUT MACHINE WORKS

Fluorescent tubes of various diameters are fed to the ECM. The tube ends are first removed and then cleared of phosphor powder by the air push nozzles. To achieve a clean glass fraction it is very important that a high level of precision is maintained. As industry leaders in technology, MRT can offer the cleanest glass available from a lamp recycling process, thanks to the unique blowing procedure while the tube is still in motion.  The tube ends, glass and powder are then collected.  As an added benefit, it is now possible to re-use the extracted phosphor powder.

OPTIONS

END CAP CRUSH AND SIEVE SYSTEM

The End Cap Crush and Sieve System separates ferrous metals and aluminium components from the waste glass (end cap lead glass).

EXTRA WIDE END CUT MACHINE

An extra wide ECM allows for the processing of larger tubes. The maximum size of the tubes with this extra wide machine is 2400 mm.

ROW BURNER SYSTEM

This system cuts the tubes using a thermal shock method. Cutting the tubes using this method makes it possible to achieve an even purer powder fraction. Unlike with the default disc cutting method, no traces of fine glass will be present in the powder fraction.

MRT ANALYZER

The MRT Analyzer is a detection system which identifies and collects various phosphor powder qualities in order to re-use the powder. The Analyzer requires a Row Burner System.
